Why MyFLEX?
As a circus physio, I see a LOT of stretching related injuries! These have many causes, but all boil down to the same principle: the injured students were doing drills that were not specific to THEIR body and THEIR mobility restrictions. When I work with these artists, the keystone of my work is ASSESSING what particular structures are limiting their flexibility, and then ASSIGNING them targeted drills to address that issue. These drills would be integrated directly into their stretching sessions. 

In short, I would CUSTOMIZE their stretching experience based on a thorough assessment of their flexibility. And guess what…these students not only would heal from their injuries quicker, but they would PROGRESS FASTER in flexibility.

1. OBJECTIVE SELF-ASSESSMENT TO CREATE YOUR FLEXIBILITY PROFILE
You will be GUIDED through measuring and submitting 2-4 self assessments per body region (for splits and backbends). This process will zero in to your body’s specific flexibility barriers, so you KNOW what’s holding you back from that elusive FLAT SPLIT or PERFECT bridge!

Because this is NOT a computer generated, or cookie cutter program, there is a $19.99 fee associated with each new program.

About Your Coach: Dr. Jen Crane
A charmingly nontraditional physiotherapist, Dr. Jen Crane is known for her innovative approach to injury prevention and performance optimization in circus arts. As a dual credentialed physio and athletic therapist, she’s spent her career working with athletes and artists of all levels— from recreational acrobats, to Cirque du Soleil artists, to olympic gymnasts. Jen LOVES leveraging her knowledge on the human body to SAFELY meet our endearingly bizarre circus goals: butt to head, reverse meathook split, or single heel hang; Jen specializes in troubleshooting barriers to goals that you’d NEVER find in textbooks.  

In addition to her physio work, Jen is currently training and performing in Montreal, with a focus on dance trapeze, aerial straps, and handbalancing.

Jen Crane
I am a nontraditional physical therapist, to say the least. As a dual credentialed physical therapist and athletic trainer, I've spent most of my career working with athletes and performing artists, from recreational acrobats to olympic gold medal divers and weight lifters. In addition to treating patients, I also contract with Cirque du Soleil, and travel worldwide to teach circus arts instructors and students how to protect their bodies to maximize performance and train unencumbered by injury.

When I'm NOT working as Cirque Physio, I spend most of my time training and performing as a circus artist. Current disciplines include single point trapeze, handbalancing, and dance.
